Here we go, round two. It's been two months (gasp!) since I've done this and it was still as hard as the first time around. I used the tripod this time around and shot some photos right after church.
I learned two things this time around: always take photos before church. Surprisingly enough, you can't really tell, but there's a lovely pink mark on my sleeve courtesy of Sunday School and scented markers. And secondly, I need to learn how to work that remote. It's fairly (read: glaringly) obvious in my photos.
Way to be discreet, Kiki. Way to be discreet.

You're too cute. I'm still figuring out how to work/hide the remote. Mine has a shutter button and a 2-second-delay shutter button, so usually I try to use the delayed one to give myself a second to hide the remote, but it's about 1 second too long to keep a natural look on my face so it always turns into weird expressions, ha!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable. I haven't actually noticed the remote until you mentioned.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a great camera yet, it's one of my 2015-2016 wishes.. other things just keep popping before it!
I love how they turned out though :)
Loove the necklace and the skirt and the cardigan and just everything! This post is seriously brave! And marks on clothing show that you had fun (at least that's what this clumsy, always marked girl is trying to tell herself) ;)
ReplyDeleteCuuuute! I'm bad with the remote too :) I have discovered the genius of maxi skirts, and now I'm hooked! So comfortable.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, CUTE!!! Everything about these pictures is perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteTri-pod selfies are THE HARDEST! I did a round of them for Amy's blog last year (or maybe two years ago?!?!) and I've never tried it again! I really admire people who can take their own pictures and have a variety of angles and look totally natural!
Haha. I have in no way mastered the remote and the tripod. You've done really well!!!
ReplyDeleteI did not notice the remote until I read what you had written, haha! :) These are really cute!
ReplyDeleteYou look so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have the option of having the 2 or 10 second delay on my camera and usually go with the 2 second delay but I have a feeling that 10 seconds would just make for an awkward pose or smile. So I think I'll go with the visible remote and semi-decent smile than any more awkwardness! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't notice right away! :) I thought for sure everyone would be able to.
ReplyDeleteAnd getting a new camera sounds exciting! Do you have one that you have in mind or have your eye on?
Thanks, friend! I wish I could say that posting these would get easier with time but that's definitely not the case. I still struggle with it! But it helps that I scheduled this post ahead of time and totally forgot it was posting this week! :)
ReplyDeleteGood to know I'm not the only one--although, I've never noticed your remote anywhere in any of your photos!!!
ReplyDeleteMaxi skirts truly are amazing. I thought they looked weird but I love them and now want a few more in my closet!
Oh, I still have LOTS to learn about mastering that remote and tripod. LOOOOOTS. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Monica! But I definitely need some more practice when it comes to the remote, haha. :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks friend!! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Victoria! You really know how to make me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd tripod selfies are sooooo hard. I would think that they'd be easier, but it's definitely easier to just have my sisters take a few photos here and there as opposed to lugging out the camera and testing photos and using that silly remote. :) There needs to be some sort of class or something for it!
So cute! :) Your "which you're likely not" comment made me laugh! I definitely wanted to know where your necklace and shoes came from, so there! ;D
ReplyDeleteHaha, well I wanted to add it in just in case, but didn't want to come across as some seasoned fashion blogger since I'm not. That, and most of my clothes are from Target and Old Navy so there's not much diversity in my closet! :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice the remote until you mentioned it. When I use my tripod for pictures of me, I use the timer on my camera. Have you tried that instead?
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm totally interested in those outfit details, because this outfit is right up my alley. You know, I'm expanding my wardrobe to be more "adult" clothing and not just jeans and t-shirts. ha!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I know that feeling, too. I've been trying to be more adult-like, too! I try and distinguish myself from the student teachers in the center and have been trying to wear more "teacher-y/grown-up" clothes lately. Let me know if you have any good company recs!
ReplyDeleteI actually have tried the timer! I haven't always had the remote and so I used to use the timer for my shots but I didn't like having to run back and forth. So I have a feeling it'll just be trial and error for me, haha. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so pretty, Kiki! I love that you're taking these pictures! <3
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Susannah! Your comments always make me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad because I totally mean them!!! <3
ReplyDelete<3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteYou are so beautiful! I love the green behind you and how it highlights the springy-ness of your outfit! Also, I definitely didn't notice the remote until you said something haha- next time just don't say anything! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! Love the skinny belt look!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! I belt EVERYTHING it's not even funny, haha. :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! I am all about spring right now and I can't get enough of all of the greenery and flowers in our backyard, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad you didn't notice the remote! I definitely felt like it was sticking out like a sore thumb (or whatever that saying is) but I guess it wasn't nearly as noticeable as I thought! :)
does your remote have a little flip on the back of it for a 2 second delay? it gives you TONS of time to hide it or throw it hahahahha.
ReplyDeleteand i LOVE your outfit - and girl you are just, stunning! <3
That's a good question. I honestly didn't even know that remotes could come with those! So does that mean there's an additional 2 second delay from when you hit the shutter? And does that not include the 2 seconds you can choose on your camera?
ReplyDeleteAlso, thank you. You are wayyyy too kind. :)
hmmmm to my knowledge you just set it on timer/remote setting and if it has the little switch on the back of the remote you a 2 second delay!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I'll have to try it out! I don't know if mine has it, it just has the actual button to release the timer/shutter on my camera. I need to see if it'll work on my camera, too! Thanks for the tip!
