I wrote one of these posts last week - and it sure lifted up my Monday! Good reminder. Summer plans, sandals, and berries are hard to beat. Here's to a lovely day of little things!
ReplyDeleteIt really is a great reminder to write posts like these--I'm off to go find yours now! :) Here's to the little things, indeed!
DeleteRaindrops hitting the windows is one of the best happy things :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I used to find it annoying, but it really is peaceful and calming!
DeleteMmm, fresh berries sound delicious! And I'm also loving that summer TV shows are coming back and a 4-mile hike sounds amazing!! :) Thanks for sharing these happy things!
ReplyDeletexo, gina
Fresh berries, summer TV, AND hiking are pretty much my summers in a nutshell. And thanks again for tweeting and sharing my posts lately! It means a lot to me that you're doing that. :)
DeleteGreat post! its always great to be reminded to be grateful
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I really do have to thank Danica for the inspiration. Reading her post reminded me of all that I DO have instead of all the stuff that I don't. :)
DeleteI actually HIDE from high school people on facebook. Not a time I like to look back on with love!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I try to do the same, too. It's just soooo awkward, right? I never would have thought of it at the time, but high school just wasn't my prime time. Better than middle school, but still so weird. Thank goodness I have REAL blog friends like you! :)
DeleteThis post reminded me of that song by jj heller "little things". Go to jj heller.com to listen.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'll have to take a listen! Thanks for sharing! :)
DeleteThere are so many things!!! The chips and salsa has to be a favorite of mine right now! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree! Chips and salsa is a definite weakness of mine. I'm definitely a sucker for savory treats and carbs are also a terrible weakness of mine, too. Let's just say it makes hiking that much more of a necessity. :)
Deletei love to focus on the little things; they make up most of life! it definitely helps put everything in perspective, too. so what if i didn't go on a week long vacation to switzerland? i read a really great book and had a coffee date with a friend and bought new jewelry supplies! see? perspective. ;-) i like your list very much-especially the chips and salsa bit. BIG thumbs up to that one.
ReplyDeleteExactly! The little things in life definitely keep you grateful and they have definitely helped me see things in a more positive way, too. It really is all about perspective! :)
DeleteAnd I'm with you on chips and salsa. It's a definite weakness of mine, that's for sure!
awwww. thanks for mentioning me girlie! i love love love your list and #9. as of late i've been buying strawberries and freezing them, it makes for a really refreshing snack after work. it's messy as heck but i will literally suck and chew frozen strawberries all day!
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome! I loved your post and it would be rude not to link to/mention you! :) And as for berries, my goodness they're a huge weakness of mine. Fresh, frozen, cooked, dried, you name it. In the summertime, frozen is definitely the way to go. Who cares if you get red and sticky all over, haha. :)
DeleteOh gosh....I can SO relate Kiki. It's easy to sit and compare, and be jealous, and dwell in what I don't have. But, for real- sometimes I just need a perspective change...a wake-up call to all the blessings that I have around me. Like, hello.....all these little things that you mentioned. It is the little things, the everyday things, the small moments...that keep life exciting and full. Our lives don't consist in all we have, or how much money we make. Thanks for the good reminder friend!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you can relate! The comparison game is a game that's all too familiar to me. But like you said, sometimes we just need to look at our lives from a different perspective to realize how rich and how blessed we really are. :) Thank YOU for reaffirming my thoughts!
DeleteIt's like you KNOW me. All of those are like my FAVORITE things. Especially #1. :)
ReplyDeleteHeading over to Danica's blog RIGHT now!
Haha, we must be thinking on the same wavelength right now. Is it because we've been working on the giveaway together? :) And number one is one of my faves, too. We sang another new song in church today and it was so refreshing and the perfect song for me to sing today.
DeleteAnd yes!!! You'll love Danica and her blog. I'm so glad you're heading over there!
not to derail this post in the slightest.
ReplyDeletebut i definitely read "new sandles" as "new scandals" i was like "wait what, drama queen?!?!" ;) ;)
in all seriousness though i love this list.
those simple things are so beautiful and i agree 100% i often compare myself with others on FB that is why it is good to have a health yseperation from it now and then.
Funniest comment ever award goes to you. You know me, I'm the drama queen around here. :)
DeleteAnd I completely agree with you on FB. I have a love/hate relationship with it and now that I'm into blogging (and have real friends from it, too!), I've found myself checking/using it wayyy less than I did pre-blogging days.
