THIRTY DAYS OF THANKFULNESS | WEEK THREE.
11/15 Weekends. Even if I don't have anything planned, knowing that I have two days to relax and rejuvenate is good enough for me.
11/16 Christmas shopping. I mentioned it yesterday, but I am so ready and excited for Christmas and Christmas shopping only puts me in the mood even more.
11/17 Filling my Operation Christmas Child shoebox. This is a yearly tradition for my family and I and it is such a joy to fill and pray over a shoebox for a child around the world. It's now a goal of mine to deliver shoeboxes someday!
11/18 Proverbs 31. I finished my 31 days of Proverbs this week and was so glad to end it with Proverbs 31. That book is seriously an inspiration and encouragement to me and to all women, no matter their age, career, or life stage.
11/19 Co-workers. I know I've mentioned it before, but I am really and truly grateful for such a great group of fellow teachers that I get to work with. They know what I'm going through, they know how to make me laugh, and they know how to make good comebacks, too.
11/20 Hot showers. There's nothing like a hot shower to warm you up, give you a chance to relax, sing out loud, and clear your mind and think through thoughts.
11/21 Going to bed early. Sometimes, you just have to go to bed early and get a good night's sleep. A good night's sleep works wonders, right?
What are you thankful for? Tell me in the comments below or link-up with Angela, too!
Happy Thursday, friends! And just so you know, I may or may not be taking over Christina's blog today. See you there!

That is such a great idea--for operation Christmas child. Such a wonderful tradition!! And I hope you do get to deliver them one day, that would be amazing! I am with you on the hot showers! So thankful. :) thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteHot showers are THE best. Hands down. :)
DeleteAnd yes, Operation Christmas Child has been a part of my life for years now! My sisters and I used to fill them together, but I've since "grown up" and have started making one on my own. It's much more fun getting to pick everything I want instead of having to ask my sisters before adding it into the shopping cart! :)
such a great list of things to be thankful for - seriously!
ReplyDeletehot showers + operation Christmas child + coworkers + EARLY BED TIMES!
yes. its the little things!
It's definitely the little things! Early bed times seriously work wonders and I'm thinking that's probably going to happen again tonight, if I'm honest. :)
DeleteAnd the same goes for hot showers, too!
such a sweet reminder that we ought to cultivate an attitude of gratitude! love proverbs 31 :) so happy to be catching up on your lovely blog, kiki! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks girl! I need to catch up on your blog, too! :) And I agree, Proverbs 31 is a great chapter in the Bible. Such a good read. :)
DeleteThis last Sabbath in church we watched the video of the packages being delivered and I thought the same thing, i've got to do it someday!
ReplyDeleteAw, those videos are the best! Girl, we've got to do this together someday! :)
DeleteHot showers--Yes! Love them :)
ReplyDeleteOperation Christmas child, such a good organization, we just did this at my church!
Hot showers are the best, especially on cold, cold days like we've had recently!
DeleteAnd I love Operation Christmas Child, too! It's such a fun organization and one that truly is a gift that keeps on giving. :)
true! We've been having some cold days too.
DeleteYes it is, i definitely agree :)
Our list are very similar for this past week! haha :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about the book of Proverbs!! I do like Proverbs, but will admit that I haven't studied it in depth as I would like. I might do this for the month of December! Thanks for the idea. :)
Also, I would really like your cardigan that you are wearing in that photo....or you could just tell me where you go it so we could match. :) haha
Ooh, I'm even more excited to read your post now! :)
DeleteAnd I get what you mean. I often overlook books like Psalms and Proverbs since they're not full of parables and the same richness that I often get from books in the New Testament. But since re-reading Proverbs, I've realized how much richness and wisdom there is in those books. I'm now on Psalms and am excited to see what that book has in store for me! :)
And that cardigan is from no place but the wonderful Target. And I actually highly recommend it because it's pretty much THE coziest, comfiest sweater in the world. I wore it all day today at work and also on Sunday, too. It's incredibly warm, toasty, and pretty much like I was in my pajamas all day. So yeah, get it. Ahh, I am excited about Operation Christmas Child too! I bought everything several months ago and have to set up the boxes this weekend! And I LOVE plan-less weekends! They do not occur as often as then should. And yes! to sleeping earlier... I have been so tired recently and it has been so nice to catch an extra hour of much-needed sleep!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Operation Christmas Child amazing? I love and always look forward to shopping for all of the little gifts and then filling then filling the box full of goodies.
DeleteOh, and uneventful weekends are definitely the best. Having no where to be and nothing to do is such a treat and you're right, they definitely don't happen as often as they should. Here's to catching a few more zzz's this weekend! :)
