The way the sun shines through each break in the trees, making its way to the dirt-covered path and the little mushrooms and ferns that root themselves in the ground. The way the gravel moves and almost crunches beneath your feet. The sweet smell of fir trees and fresh, fresh air. The cool breeze that meets you with each turn in the trail. The hills that take your breath away (quite literally). The views of the town miles and miles away. The quiet and solitude of it all.
Now this is why I love hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Thanks, Jessica! Nature is definitely the best subject to photograph (so glad you agree, too!), I love the beauty that can be found in the littlest of things and the amazing natural light in the outdoors--when the sun is out, at least! :)
I am totally not an outdoorsy girl but gosh these photos are breath taking. I would love to wake up to that view in the morning!!! As always stunning captures my friend!!
Wow, that means a lot Charity! I definitely am not always an outdoorsy girl (not really a camping/no showering/no plumbing girl) but have recently taken a serious love for enjoying it during the day. And I would so enjoy to wake up to a view like that, too! :)
Thanks, Amy! Girl, we have got to hiking together someday. Like really. I so love that you get and share in my love in the beauty that can be found outdoors. It sometimes seems like people our age don't see/care about that beauty anymore! :)
I've never hiked in California before (except when I was really little and my parents carried me the whole way, haha) but it sounds beautiful! Now that the rain has started, I'm definitely going to miss hiking in the sunshine. :) You'll have to come out and visit me so we can go hiking together!
oh my goodness gracious. beautiful shots, kiki!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks girl! I've been thinking the same about your sunrise photos and instagram photos lately! :)

ReplyDeleteThanks, girl! I've been trying to make myself take more photos more often and am hoping that this becomes more of a habit--especially on weekends. :)
