happy, happy, happy.

happy
If you're a fan of Duck Dynasty, I hope you understood the post title's reference. And if you don't watch that show, I highly recommend it. That Robertson family is hilarious and I'm sure it's the funniest reality TV show out there.

Anyway, today's prompt is to share the ten things that make you really happy. Not just happy, but really happy. So here are ten things that make me really happy:

Jesus. I bet you knew that one, didn't you?

Family. Love them and couldn't live without them.

Blogging. Enough said.

Snail mail. I don't get real snail mail often, so it's always a treat to open the mailbox or open the front door and find letters and packages with my name on it.

Kids. They may not be my biological kids, but I love them nonetheless. I love their smiles, their hugs, their imagination, and their love for fun.

Celebrations and holidays. I love celebrating with and for other people. There's something about parties and celebrations that really just make people happy. Presents, time with loved ones, and good food (and not counting calories!) really makes celebrations the happiest time of all.

Books. I love the feeling of paper pages and turning pages these pages with my fingers as I immerse myself into a story. Real books will always win over this girl's heart.

Kindness + random acts of kindness. Whether I see them, I receive them, or I do them myself, it makes me happy to know that there are truly kind people in this world.

Church. I didn't used to fully understand the amazing community that can be found in church, but I now love worshiping, praising, and learning more about God with a group of people who share my same love for Him.

Quality time with loved ones. My love language is quality time (read more about that here) and so any time that I get to spend with others I love makes my heart swell.

So tell me, what makes you really happy?

  1. Love these. I love snail mail to...it's sad to me that more people don't send mail.

    1. I know! It's sad to hear about the post offices struggling because people hardly send things via snail mail anymore. Snail mail is so much more fun to open than an old email. Although, getting emails from bloggers is pretty great, too! :)

  2. I love real pages on a book too! I especially love it if it's been used and I get to wonder about who has also turned the pages before me. I don't think I will ever be convinced to purchase a kindle or any of those.

    1. I was just reading a book from the library and loved seeing the verses and side notes that a previous reader left. I almost felt like I was intruding in someone's Bible study, but it was such a cool thought to think of how that book was changing someone else's heart. :)

And yeah, I know for a fact that I'm not an e-reader girl!

    1. Exactly! E-readers are definitely not my thing. Reading on a screen and reading an old fashioned paper book can never be compared. :)

    1. I hope you will be, too! I've gone to the same church for pretty much my entire life but haven't really felt as connected or part of it until recently. And even though I'm not part of a group at my church or anything, I've really felt connected just worshiping with the other people at my church. Praying that you find one to connect to/with someday! :)
