I know that's true to me, at least. I see beauty in God's creation. The flowers, the people, the butterflies. But I rarely see beauty in me.
And yet, I am beautifully and wonderfully made. More importantly, you are too.
If you're a visual person like me, I encourage you--no wait, I urge you--to watch this video.
You are beautiful. What you see in the mirror everyday is not what others see in you. More importantly, it's not what God sees in you. He sees your beauty, your worth, and He wants you to realize it and love yourself so you can love those around you.
"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14
When I saw this video the other day it felt like I was hit with a ton of bricks but they were all lifted at the same time! I first realized the weight of the truth that the video was showing us and felt so saddened. But at the same time I also realized that God sees me as His beautiful one, even when I don't see it in myself and I felt light. I, and all women, need to start treating ourselves right and looking at ourselves through God's eyes! So so wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with (and I shared) your reaction to these videos! It was such an eye-opener to me personally and then also in how we value ourselves and our beauty.
DeleteYou definitely wrote about this way more beautifully that I could have ever worded it, girl! :)
I love this! I had heard about this video but I didn't actually watch it until now.
ReplyDeleteI heard about them a lot of Facebook, but it wasn't until yesterday that I saw them, too! They're definitely powerful videos! :)
Deleteyes!!!! love this video. saw it on FB the other day and was so encouraged! :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! They're definitely powerful messages to us ladies when it comes to beauty and how we see ourselves! :)
DeleteBeautiful post, Kiki!! I watched this video recently, and it's such a beautiful reminder to love ourselves and appreciate the beauty that's in us. I started studying Genesis, and I was amazed that 3 times in 2 verses it emphasizes that God made us in HIS image. It was an incredible reminder that we are priceless because we are made in the image of the King of Kings!
ReplyDeleteLove you girl! :)
Thanks girl! It is definitely a good reminder and one that I know I'll have to continually remind myself of!
DeleteAnd that is so true! I haven't read through Genesis recently, and that is so cool to that God wrote about creating us in HIS image so many times. I think that was definitely done on purpose! :)
What a beautiful video. I never thought about us comparing ourselves for the reason you described but i think your dead on. Love your blog- I need to catch up more!
ReplyDeleteIt's an incredible video, isn't it? And thanks, I was a little unsure about how my perspective about comparison would come across, so I'm glad you agree!
DeleteAnd I need to catch up on blog reading, too, so no worries! :)
beautifully written!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! :)
