Anyway, I really loved today's topic on hopes and dreams. Mostly because that's pretty much my life. I have a lot of hopes, really. Hopes about teaching, family, love, and weddings. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with dreaming and planning as long as we take reality into consideration. As girls (and boys!) we can dream, but we also must realize that God's plans for us are far more perfect than any plans or dreams that we make (or pin).
But I know that you probably clicked over because you're interested in my dreams. So here goes nothing:
Weddings. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, the weather and season aren't too important to me. I love me some sunshine and dry weather, but a few sprinkles here and there won't rain on my parade. Personally, I'd love a spring, early summer, or early fall wedding--as long as it's outdoors.
But there are four or five things that are a must when it comes to my dream picnic-style wedding...
1. My dream wedding will (hopefully) be small. No more than seventy-five people, please! The introvert that I am can't handle huge celebrations. I much prefer laid-back celebrations with close family and friends.
2. Cardigans. I love neutrals with a pop of color and cardigans are my Sunday outfit staples, so cardigans for both me and my bridal party are a must. It's an odd dream, but it's one I hope to live out someday!
3. I'd also love for my dream wedding to have food trucks (or food carts). I love the fun, laidback feeling that they give. Plus, it's the perfect idea for an outdoor wedding.
What words describe your dream (or real) wedding? If you linked up with Meghan's post, feel free to share the link below! I love hearing about other people's hopes and dreams!
Too cute! Love the cardigans, and of course Jesus. :) I would say the word that described my wedding was joyful. Everyone was so happy and we just felt so extremely blessed and loved all day long!
ReplyDeleteColored cardigans are the cutest, right? I love how you described your wedding as joyful. Pure joy and happiness is the best feeling and I'm glad your wedding was full of it! :)
DeleteI LOVE this post! Gral, this is awesome! Fun colored cardigans are a fab idea! Especially since I don't want sleeveless dresses on my bridesmaids (I find that "skin" distracts from everything else!), and since most cute dresses these days don't have sleeves, I might just tuck this idea way in my "perhaps maybe someday" file! Wedding planning is like a hobby for me - I'd love to be a wedding planner/coordinator someday! I can tell you know that if I ever get married, there will be balloons, bunting, white lights, and cookies & milk instead of cake. :)
